In 2023, GBC used acoustic methods to conduct presence-absence surveys in five large parks in New York City, one in each Borough. With this information, we can better understand what bats are present in New York’s green spaces, what strategies can be implemented to enhance these habitats for the bats that occupy them, and how we can help conserve our city’s bat population.

In 2024, GBC used acoustic methods to conduct presence-absence surveys in eight New York City Parks.
