Our Findings

In 2023, GBC used acoustic methods to conduct presence-absence surveys in five large parks in New York City, one in each Borough. With this information, we can get an enhanced understanding of what bats are present in New York’s green spaces, what strategies can be implemented to enhance these habitats for the bats that occupy them, and how we can help conserve our city’s bat population.
